While pursuing a BFA in Film & Media Arts at Cleveland State University, Nick has pursued outside projects and gained a wealth of experience in video production, graphic design, digital marketing, collaborative work, communications, press relations, event coordination, and public outreach.
Nick’s collegiate work has seen him serve as Director of Photography, Producer, Gaffer, Grip/Electric and more on multiple student films. Nick’s work has been screened in festivals in and out of school, including TRICK (dir. Tony Wilton, 2026), which was awarded “Audience Choice” at CSU’s 2026 Student Film Festival and is currently on the festival circuit. He has been named on the Dean’s List numerous times during his academic career.
Since 2023, Nick has served as the Social Media Committee Chairperson for the American Steam Railroad Preservation Association (ASR), a 501c3 nonprofit based in Cleveland, Ohio. Nick’s leadership has expanded ASR’s social media presence, established a robust, modernized brand identity, debuted a new website in 2025, connected with the next generation of railroad preservationists, and boosted transparency, sales and donations. Nick has also taken an active role in ASR’s public outreach and programming, most notably conceptualizing and planning a record-setting living history open house in October 2025. Additionally, Nick has spearheaded all video production for ASR since 2022 and has served as a restoration volunteer since age 16. He was named a Young Gun in Railroad Preservation by Trains Magazine for his contributions to ASR.
Nick honed his event-planning skills with Dynamo Productions, a leading group of creatives in online railroad media. In January 2025, Nick directed a first-of-its-kind night photography reenactment event at the famed Strasburg Rail Road, which hosted 40 ticketed photographers with great success. He also debuted a new website for the group in early 2026, and works year-round alongside Dynamo’s 10 other filmmakers to produce high-quality content for the group’s 150,000+ YouTube subscribers.
Independently, Nick’s years of documentary-style work have gained widespread recognition. Since 2022, Nick has proudly worked on projects for the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, FMW Solutions, Streamliner Media, the Pennsylvania Railroad T1 Trust, the Steam Railroading Institute, the East Broad Top Railroad and others in freelance capacities. Nick’s photography earned him the Grand Prize in Nevada Northern Railway’s 2025 Steam, Steel and Strobes Photo Scholarship. He also volunteers with the Fort Wayne Railroad’s Indiana Rail Experience, named in 2023 by the state tourism board as Indiana’s Best New Experience.
